The Engine Works Ltd Terms & Conditions 2024. Issue by: The Engine Works Ltd, Unit A2, Abbey Close, Wrexham Industrial Estate, LL13 9UE.
1. Introduction
1.1 Your contract with The Engine Works Ltd starts from the date you purchase your membership and accept the terms and conditions.
1.2 Please make sure you read the terms and conditions of your membership carefully and contact us via email if you have any questions.
2. Memberships
2.1 Our core memberships:
The Flagship Membership - a rolling month-by-month contract from sign-up. You will be charged on the 1st of every month. If you wish to cancel this membership, please refer to clause 7.2.
6 Week Starter Package - This is a one-off payment which gives you unlimited access to all services for a 6 week period. The 6 Week Starter Package cannot be transferred to others and is non-refundable.
On The Go - allows you to purchase 10 class or open gym passes (credits). This is a one-off payment. Your passes are valid for 8 weeks, after this, they are not valid for use. On The Go passes cannot be transferred to others and are non-refundable.
2.2 Membership Add Ons
You have the option of purchasing sessions/workshops.
This is a one-off payment and you can find prices on our App.
2.3 Discounted Memberships
You have been provided with a discount code to receive your membership at a discounted rate for a set amount of time agreed upon by The Engine Works Ltd.
You cannot cancel your membership until the discounted period and/or agreed contract period is over. After the discounted duration has ended, your membership will continue at the full cost of your selected membership.
3. Membership Fees
3.1 Your monthly membership fees are set out on our website and in the mobile App.
3.2 Membership fees must be paid whether you are using the membership or not. If you need to pause your membership, please refer to clause 6.
4. Payment Method
4.1 You are required to make a one-off payment for The 6 Week Starter Programme - This is non-refundable.
4.2 The Flagship Membership is charged on the 1st of every month via Direct Debit. Please note if you join us after the 1st of the month, you will be charged pro-rata for the remainder of the days left in the month.
4.3 You are required to make a one-off payment for the On The Go sessions or any membership add-ons prior to attending the sessions.
5. Failure to pay
In the event of a failure to pay by instalment or failure to pay any sum owed to The Engine Works Ltd, we will be in touch to re-confirm your bank details and discuss your other payment options. In the event that payment is not received, your membership will be cancelled and we may appoint a debt-collection agency to collect the amount owed from you. In this instance, you will be responsible for any costs incurred, including court costs.
6. Pausing your membership
6.1 Memberships can only be paused for a maximum of one month.
6.2 Please contact us directly to arrange for your membership to be paused.
6.3 Should you wish to cancel your membership after the 1 month period, you will still be subject to our standard membership termination policy (4 weeks notice). Please refer to clause 7 for further information about cancelling your membership.
7. Membership Cancellation
7.1 Monthly memberships can be cancelled by giving 4 weeks notice before your next billing date. Once cancelled, your membership will run (for 4 weeks) until your next billing date and will not be renewed after this.

8. Our rights to cancellation
8.1 We may end your membership at any time in writing to you for the following reasons;
- Failure to make payment to us (clause 5)
- Any offensive, abusive, or violent behaviour that puts our employees/coaches or members at risk of injury, illness, or death.
- Disregard of instructions given by an employee or coach which may result in injury, illness, or death, to yourself, other members, or our employees/coaches.
- Damage caused to gym equipment/facilities due to disrespectful behaviour.
9. Our right to make changes
9.1 At any time, we may change the membership fee to an amount we feel reasonable. If these changes affect you, you will be informed via email and you will be given 4 weeks notice before any changes come into effect.
9.2 At any time, we may change our opening hours and class timetable. You will be given at least 24 hours notice if this is the case.
9.3 Changes to our terms and conditions will be made should we feel it is necessary to do so. Any changes that are made, you will be informed via email or by our community page on our App.
10. Events beyond our control
10.1 If for any reason we are unable to provide services and facilities at The Engine Works Ltd for more than 30 consecutive days, due to reasons out of our control, you or we can cancel your membership.
10.2 By law, we do not need to pay compensation in these circumstances.
10.3 Reasons beyond our control include; government actions, national or regional emergencies, natural disasters, acts of terrorism, war, fire, explosion, flood, power cuts, protests, and eviction from the premises operating The Engine Works Ltd facilities.
11. Your contact details
It is your responsibility to keep your contact details up to date via your memberships profile. We will only contact you via the information you have provided. If you have any difficulties doing this, please email info@the-engineworks.co.uk and we will ensure these are updated for you.
12. Data Protection
12.1 We take Data Protection very seriously at The Engine Works Ltd and will do everything possible to ensure that the data we hold about you as a member is collected, stored, processed, maintained, cleansed, and retained in accordance with current and future UK data legislation.
12.2 We will record any personal information you give us in line with current data protection laws.
12.3 Under data protection law, you have the right: to ask us for access to personal information we hold about you, have your personal data rectified, object to the processing of personal data in certain circumstances and request deletion or removal of personal data where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing.
12.4 We will keep any clinical information provided confidential and only pass it to, or receive it from, those involved with your programme at The Engine Works Ltd. By joining as a member, you are giving us permission to share information that relates to your health between members of staff.
12.5 In the event you fail to pay your monthly membership fee, we may pass your personal information to a debt collection agency.
12.6 It is your responsibility to keep all your personal contact details and how you want to receive marketing materials up to date.
12.7 Please ensure you also review our Privacy Policy.
13. Alternative Dispute Resolution
Alternative dispute resolution is a process whereby an independent body considers the facts of a dispute and seeks to resolve it, without you having to go to court. If you are unhappy with how a complaint has been handled, you can submit your complaint to the European Commission Dispute Resolution platform.
14. Choice of Law
Your membership with The Engine Works Ltd is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
